With over 100 years of experience in bacon-making, Hormel starts with fresh (never frozen) hand-trimmed pork bellies and treats them to a proprietary brine and natural hardwood smoke process. This results in Hormel's Black Label Fully Cooked Original Bacon, which is available in 10.5 oz. boxes, with a total of 4 boxes and 288 slices of bacon.
The bacon is naturally hardwood slow-smoked for hours to create a complex sweet and savory flavor. One box is equal to 4 lbs of raw bacon or 4 - 1 lb packages of raw bacon.
The product is shelf-stable, meaning no refrigeration is needed before opening. However, once the package is opened, the product needs to be refrigerated.
